Hey! I went on a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this past weekend. It was an incredibly long drive, and took my mom and I almost the entire day to get there!
You might be asking, Why would you go the beach in February? It’ll be COLD! We were visiting my mom’s friend from high school/college and her family. Despite the fact that it was cold, the drive was long, and I got sick, I still had quite a lot of fun. :)
But first:
CUPCAKES.
Remember how I mentioned making cupcakes with old friends in my last post? These are the cupcakes we made.
They were red velvet, and each one was about the size of two normal cupcakes. There was a serious design flaw with the heart-shaped cupcake wrappers. You had to cut them with scissors — scissors! — in order to slowly peel the stiff paper away from the cupcakes.
Whoever designed those wrappers did not think them through.
These are the cupcakes that I decorated.
And now we can move on to beach pictures! :D
First, let’s look at some water towers that I photographed on the gruelingly long journey home.
Beach ball water tower!
Sombrero water tower!
In the Myrtle Beach State Park gift shop, they were selling these little bottles of ground up seashells for, like, eight dollars. It basically just looks like sand. I don’t know why you would spend eight bucks on a tiny jar filled with seashells/sand when the beach is literally only a few yards away.
Plus, they were selling Grumpy Cat things, which is awesome.
Sorry that this one’s blurry — the lighting in the gift shop was terrible. In case you can’t read it, it says, I hope life gives you sugar & water . . . or your lemonade is going to suck!
Please don’t tell me that I was the only one dying of laughter.
There was this wax museum beside the highway, and I thought that it was really cool, so I took a picture of it. ☺
The walkway leading up to Myrtle Beach State Park’s nature center was decorated with a bunch of recycled stuff, and it look really cool. There was a beaded spider web made of fishing line (above) . . .
. . . this birdbath thingy . . .
. . . a Christmas tree-looking thing made of palm tree bark . . .
. . . these mushrooms, which looked like half of an Easter egg . . .
. . . “Six Pack Ring Flowers” . . .
. . . and whatever this is supposed to be.
You may be thinking, Didn’t Loren say that she went to Myrtle Beach? So . . . where are the beach pictures? Well, you’re in luck, because photos of the sand dunes, ocean, and pier are up next. ;)
Seashells!
We met this cute little puppy on our way to the beach! ☺
I do, in fact, have more pictures, (pics of a castle called Atalaya, and LOTS of pictures of palm trees), but I’m going to post those later. :)
BYE.
This was really interesting! The recycled-art pictures are really neat. And the beach pictures are sooo pretty – especially the seashell ones. I love the white foam with the seashells. ♥ We hardly ever go to warm beaches (well, I guess Myrtle Beach in February isn’t exactly a “warm beach” XD), but we went to Amelia Island with our friends last year, and it was AMAZING! I really liked the shells there too. :)

Thanks! Yeah, they are. Thank you so much! Ooh, I know — sea foam + shells = prettiness. ;) Nooo, it was not warm at all. Unless you count 30 degrees as “warm.”

This beach looks just like a beach we visited in Oregon! It was cold and we had no swim suits with us, but why would that matter? XD
I love all the Grump Cat thingy-ma-bops (sorry, the word has slipped my mind XD)!! My favorite one is the lemonade one. :P Grumpy cat…. :| XD
Lovely photography, by the way! :D
